Election Day is 7 weeks away. The Alliance is here to help with resources, opportunities, events, and timelines so that you have best nonpartisan materials to use in educating your students about the election.
Highlight from the FieldThe 9th grade students at Colorado River Collegiate Academy (CRCA), an early college high school in Bastrop, TX, will begin a fall civic awareness project involving collaborative, student-led research on impactful campaign issues, especially those that affect young voters. Small groups of students will work together to research all sides of an issue in order to get a comprehensive understanding of the core issues at hand in the fall presidential election. Student groups will have agency to choose the campaign issue that interests them the most by selecting a unique topic from a list of key issues. At the completion of their research projects, student groups will present their findings to the entire class, which will enable young voters to understand the complexity and nuances of a wide variety of civic campaign issues.
